From March 1994 to March 2014... 20 years in the Thai Ridgeback Dog breed...

This photo is of my first Thai Ridgeback Dog. His name was SAKORN. The day was March 17th 1994 and he lived a good life for 13 years and 355 days.   This photo taken in 1995 when I was at an AKC dog show trying to show off the breed. I did for a total of nine long years across 32 different states in the USA.   This photo taken on March 17th as well, but twenty years later. His name is Major Kalahan. He will live with Amanda and George Bell of Ashland City, Tennessee.

Here are some of the TRD we have bred and have sold to people all over the world for the past 20 years.

This is our 20th year in the TRD breed.. So, what's in a name??

The original kennel name was "Sterling Kennels" which was created in London by Jack Sterling in 1970 at age 23, for a newly found rare breed of dog called the Pharaoh Hound. Fourteen years later in 1984, he replaced his beloved Pharaoh Hound breed for a still newer rare breed of dog called the Chinese Shar-Pei. He let the kennel name just continued the same until 1994, when he discovered yet another rare breed of dog in Bangkok.  It was called the Mah Thai Lung Ahn.  He then changed their Thai name of "Mah Thai" (Thai Dog) into a easier way to say it in English... Thai Ridgeback Dog or TRD for short. Than while living near NYC in 1997, he changed his old kennel name after 27 years to a newer more updated version name of the  "House of Sakorn-Sterling TRD."

Now in 2012 at the age of 65 years, he just opted to say it the Thai way... "Baan SakornTRD."
